Meet Mia
Hello! I am so glad you’re here. Let me tell you a little bit about myself, so we can get to know one another. I am a Full Time Stay at Home, Homeschool Mom of three little girls, here in Portage, Michigan! I have been teaching private piano lessons since 2009 and launched my full-time in-home studio in 2019. Since launching in 2019 I have taught over 30 students and counting. I teach beginner and intermediate level piano to students of all ages, as young as five years old.
I am passionate about making music and learning a fun and enjoyable experience for all ages, implementing various games, activities, and incentives as often as possible!
Over the years, I have chosen to utilize a combination of ‘Faber’, ‘WunderKeys’, and ‘Piano Adventures’ for the majority of my students’ curriculum, as I feel they are easy to understand for all ages, and rich in music theory and piano basics. However, I do believe that supplemental repertoire is also very important for a well-rounded musician and have chosen to also add new supplemental songs each month.
